The Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå University Rome Program at LUCE is a unique study abroad opportunity for students from Lasallian colleges and universities around the world to study with each other while living at the Lasallian Universities Center for Education (LUCE) in the Generalate, the motherhouse of the De La Salle Christian Brothers in Rome, Italy. Conveniently located less than a block from the Metro and major bus lines, all of the famous sites of Rome are just a few minutes away. Its extensive grounds and facilities provide a safe and ideal place to study and explore the city.

Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå University faculty members lead the Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå Rome Program at LUCE, living at the Generalate with the students, teaching courses, and traveling with the students on program sponsored excursions. This exciting program provides students the opportunity to use Rome as their classroom as they complete courses toward their degree while gaining a deeper understanding of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, the De La Salle Christian Brothers, and the international Lasallian network. It also includes excursions to other parts of Italy, so participants can explore the rich history and culture of the country.

 COURSES

Students will take a full load of courses, including one course from each of the faculty leaders, for a total of four to six courses. Any of the courses taken on the program may also count toward the Globalization Gen Ed requirement.  Courses are taught Monday through Thursday, allowing students ample opportunity to explore more of the rich culture of Rome and Italy outside of class.

 HOUSING

Students will live in a single person room at the Generalate. Each room features a bed, desk, chair, and wardrobe, and a bathroom with shower. There is a shared common space for the program participants, as well as laundry facilities.

A meal plan at the Generalate dining facilities will also be provided as part of the program. Students will be provided breakfast and either lunch or dinner every day.
